History
In the year 2000, a group of leaders from Rehoboth Christian Reformed
Church, were invited to attend a conference in Minneapolis at Wooddale
Church. Wooddale is a large healthy growing church much like many others
except for one key difference. It has church-planting running through
its veins. In fact it has helped birth nine other new churches out of
its own congregation over the last 20 years.
Out of this conference Rehoboth CRC began looking into the possibility
of planting a new church in the Municipality of Clarington. By May of
2003 they started looking for a missionary pastor to lead a core group
from Rehoboth CRC to start this church. Pastor Martin Spoelstra was
interviewed in the fall of that year and accepted the challenge to be
the church planter. In May of 2005 Pastor Martin was commissioned to
begin gathering a group of believers from Rehoboth CRC and the broader
Christian Churches in the area to begin the process.
It is their hope to be a church where people can discover God, grow in a
relationship with Jesus and be involved in serving the community of
Clarington.
