Vision

To be a faith community of people who are passionate about their relationship with Jesus Christ, who introduce Him to others, and are actively involved in serving the community of Clarington.

Core Values
  1. Discovery - We are all on a journey of spiritual discovery. We believe that this church can be a place where life change can happen wherever we are on the road of faith, knowing that spiritual growth is different for each person.

  2. Service - We want to lovingly serve the Clarington community and our world.

  3. Community - We value community life and want to provide a place where we develop a sense that we are not working alone, where we find strength and friendship within our community.

  4. Being Real - We value being a community where people are real and transparent with each other, where we can be ourselves no matter what that looks like.

  5. Relevant - It also means being a church that is relevant to our everyday lives by using language, music and creative arts to communicate to real people about developing a relationship with Jesus.

  6. Kingdom Expansion - We value partnerships with others in our community and around the world in serving Jesus because God is bigger than any one church. We value inviting and bringing others into a relationship with Jesus so that God's Kingdom may be expanded both here and in other places, especially through new churches.

History

In the year 2000, a group of leaders from Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church, were invited to attend a conference in Minneapolis at Wooddale Church. Wooddale is a large healthy growing church much like many others except for one key difference. It has church-planting running through its veins. In fact it has helped birth nine other new churches out of its own congregation over the last 20 years.

Out of this conference Rehoboth CRC began looking into the possibility of planting a new church in the Municipality of Clarington. By May of 2003 they started looking for a missionary pastor to lead a core group from Rehoboth CRC to start this church. Pastor Martin Spoelstra was interviewed in the fall of that year and accepted the challenge to be the church planter. In May of 2005 Pastor Martin was commissioned to begin gathering a group of believers from Rehoboth CRC and the broader Christian Churches in the area to begin the process.

It is their hope to be a church where people can discover God, grow in a relationship with Jesus and be involved in serving the community of Clarington.
